Support & FAQs | Son:mi

Question 1

How does Son:mi analyse my skin?

Accepted Answer

You scan your face in natural light, and Son:mi analyses your skin, reading your skin tone, undertone and type. It draws on a broad body of dermatological research, and gives you a breakdown with a confidence score and a plain explanation of what it found. You can adjust anything that looks off or ask follow-up questions.

Question 2

Is one scan really enough?

Accepted Answer

One scan gives you a strong first picture of your skin. But your skin changes over time, with the seasons, the time of the month, and the products you use. So the more you check in, the more accurate and reliable your results become.

Question 3

Does it work on every skin tone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Son:mi is built for every skin tone and undertone.

Question 4

How do I get the most accurate scan?

Accepted Answer

Use natural, even lighting, face the camera straight on, and remove makeup where you can. You can scan again any time.

Question 5

Are recommendations sponsored?

Accepted Answer

No. Your recommendations come from your skin profile and real product data, and they're not influenced by ad spend or commission.

Question 6

Is my data safe?

Accepted Answer

Everything you upload is encrypted in transit and at rest, and your scans are stored privately. We ask for your explicit consent before analysing any scan. Trusted third-party services process your scan and skin profile without your name or email attached. We don't sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising. Your recommendations are not influenced by ad spend or commission.

Question 7

How do I delete my account or my data?

Accepted Answer

You can delete your account from inside the app or contact Son:mi support from the address linked to your account. Either way, Son:mi will delete your identifiable account data promptly, except for limited information it is legally required to retain. Genuinely anonymised information that cannot be traced back to you may remain.

Question 8

Does Son:mi replace a dermatologist?

Accepted Answer

No. Son:mi helps you understand your skin and choose products with more confidence, but it isn't medical advice and doesn't diagnose skin conditions. For anything persistent, painful, or concerning, please see a dermatologist or doctor.
